As far as I know, the word “spirituality” has a very wide meaning in the English language and describes everything from belief systems to the typically esoteric-occult field.
Let’s check a definition in the Cambridge Dictionary, so that we’ll be on the same page:
If we approach it from this angle, I assure you, spirituality is a kind of natural, innate, inseparable part of my life. If not for my incessant, firm connection with the world that transcends the physical plane, I’d probably fall into a deep depression, stripped of any will to live. The dense, material reality is so dry and barren without spirit, like the desert under the fierce, searing rays of the vehement sun.
Not every person requires it, but I do. I need a glimpse of wonder to exist, I need a touch of the Absolute, a presence of magic in my life. Moreover, I feel it, I see it, I experience it with every particle of my being, so there is not even a question for me, not a tiny pin of doubt if something beyond the material and palpable exists. I see the representation of the divine or divinities in everything, even in the small things. I’m a whole-hearted believer, and I’m happy I have this gift.
Additionally, it’s not only about believing for me. I’m into the more practical side of spirituality as well. Call it psychic, magic, esoteric… I write a lot about this on the pages of my blog, so feel free to check it out. I’m a Reiki Level II practitioner, I’m an astrologer and experienced Tarot reader. He observed the room again. So silent it was. His neighbor Torret, pious, honest, and well-versed man, was still absent. He would make a great high priest one day, at least Agenit would vote for him. No one can be more genuine, knowledgeable, or honorable than Torret. Definitely not him—man chuckled silently.
He took the last peek through the window, observing the chanting, swaying crowd, running kids, stumbling, laughing, crying, a somber procession moving towards the earth temple—someone’s funeral, no doubt… The distant sea waters were shimmering cold and bright, resembling a wide silver bracelet, thrown loosely at the place where the sands meet the horizon, reflecting the blinding sunrays…
A black feather slowly swirled down, as if falling from the clear, sizzling skies—straight from nowhere. Agenit blinked and headed towards his bed, falling down on the cool sheets.
His sacred lamp, composed of three divine metals, was burning steadily, placed on the bedside table among the paper rolls. They were taught that these metals represented the three kinds of fire: iron was an earthy fire, gold—a festive flame or sunray, and tin stood for a spiritual blaze. He should have cleared some space for his lamp, sure, put rolls in order, but a heavy laziness started to overcome him.
The lamp’s fire should never be put away. It was a representation of his vocation as a priest; it was a living, acting, undisturbed prayer to the Rogner, which secured his guidance and protection. It would be extinguished only at the moment of his death… Or if he left the temple, which meant the same. The fire suddenly rose and jumped upwards.
The man laughed shortly to himself. You see? He is not made for being a priest, the divine Father knows it perfectly, sees him through in his highest wisdom.
Sure, Agenit was born under the sign of a warrior, in the month of high fires, conceived in chaos. On the day of his birth, all three Moons were aligned, forming the resemblance of a crown. Which happened quite rarely, actually. Because of this, the members of the fire order believed him to become their leader, a High Priest, and with time rule over Aridia, as part of a sacred council represented by high priests of all four elemental deities.
In truth, he was quite gifted, but had a completely wrong personality for becoming a priest—too exuberant, too brave, too independent. He wanted to fight in battles, build his own home, probably have a wife one day, if she won’t interfere much. Adventures! This word made his heart beat faster.
He’d travel this world all over. He would see all lands and their curiosities. He would never rest until his inner fire would be extinguished and his body would be but an empty cocoon, incinerated to ashes.
The fragrance of flowers in bloom, heavy and oppressing in such weather, made his head go round. Agenit loved the heat but was too dizzy already to adjust his body to it, so it started to overwhelm him. He’d go to the seashore and swim as far as he could see in the warm, clear waters. Later, he would dive deep and lie still in the depths, watching the sun mysteriously glow through the water layers, its light interrupted only by the motley schools of small fish. Ah, the refreshing coolness of sea waves. The man stretched out in his bed, dreaming.
There was another issue with this hypothetical “crown and might” notion—he was lowborn. No, his mother was a revered wise woman, and in normal circumstances, he would be respected as well, as her child, even though never taught or admitted to magic. But Agenit was a child of the war, a bastard, knowing nothing of his father, except that he was a Delvian soldier, who raped his mother. Delvian…
They called him that all his life. His very reflection told him so every morning. He inherited these sharp face features and black hair from his father, and wore it as a branded sign of shame. Not once did he wish that someone would break his nose in a fight. Shaving his head bald was another option. As a child, he often imagined dyeing his hair in the sun rays, so they lost their color; some women did that. But with time, Agenit learned to accept what he was.
Nonetheless, can you imagine a person looking like him entering the council? Walking apparition of their worst overseas enemy?
He bit his lip, still watching the dancing, restless movement of the flame. The music fell silent. Now he heard only the occasional bursts of laughter from the street, just under his window. “Neofits having a break,” crossed his mind.
He often thought of joining the mages guild. They’ll accept him for sure with his talent and expertise. Then he’ll be under their protection and can quit the priesthood without the risk of being killed. They also had fewer oaths and rules, except for sticking for each other and taking part in increasing the overall magical knowledge. Moreover, the mages… They are way freer in their ways. He planned to join them for a long time already, he just waited for the right moment to do that… But this moment never actually came… Even now, he is putting off the final decision.
The movements of fire entranced him, lulling his mind, together with the insistent chirping and young voices coming out from the quarter’s garden. He closed his eyes, just for a moment, for a couple of minutes; he had some time before the next ceremony… Just for a minute, so that he could consider this change with a fresher mind. Maybe it’s time…
I was somewhat inspired by today’s daily prompt – yep, it happens sometimes. So, I decided to write a post regarding love and attraction through the lens of Western Astrology theoretically and using the natal chart attached below as an example. Which elements in our charts are responsible for that?
We typically look at these points:
Planets: Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars: ☀️The Sun represents either the husband (long-term male partner) or our lifestyle/character, which is crucial for compatibility. 🌙The Moon indicates the wife (long-term female partner), emotional connections, and what we need for comfort and security (family and home life in general). ♀️ Venus signifies the ideal female lover or how we experience and express our love. ♂️ Mars represents the ideal male lover or sexual attraction in general.
Some astrologers also suggest that the planet indicating husband/wife depends on the time of birth (Sun/Moon for daytime, Mars/Venus for nighttime), but it’s a matter of interpretation. For me, Sun/Moon suffice for marriage/long-term partner analysis. Nonetheless, we should analyze all four planets in this context.
Houses and their components (planets inside the House and House Ruler): The 5th House and its components show us general attraction, being in love, sex, and even children. The 7th House signifies partnership/marriage, serious bonds. The 4th House represents our home (which we share with our partners) and everything connected to family and roots (including traumas from our parental home carried into adult life).
Aspects are also crucial in determining our love life. For instance, we look for conjunctions, trines and sextiles between the mentioned planets to confirm that the person has no issues entering and sustaining love relationships, and accepting their roles, desires, urges, femininity/masculinity, while squares and oppositions could negatively influence these dynamics.
Let’s look at the example (with the full consent of the chart’s owner):
At first glance, we see that this person is very passionate, falls in love quickly and ardently (5th House Aries Venus + Leo Mars). There are no problems with entering relationships, as she has a perfect balance of feminine and masculine energy (Sun trines Moon, Venus trines Mars) and a good understanding of the opposite sex’s needs and ways of behaving.
She can’t really live without a relationship; love and being with somebody are crucial for her (7th House Sun, 5th House Venus). Even though you may think that she has numerous “strong signs” placements, she is a very dependable person in the relationship. The Moon in Capricorn is not the same as the Sun in Capricorn; it is a weak placement for a woman – restrictive, “in chains”. You may compare that with her Pisces Lilith if you know some astrology basics.
In the past, people chose the marriage date specifically so that the Moon was in Capricorn, meaning that the woman would be controlled and have no power or decisive presence in her new home, whereas a Cancer or Taurus Moon often shows a strong, resourceful hostess type of woman. But keep in mind there are always several variants in which the planetary archetype may express itself. For example, a Capricorn Moon may represent a dependable woman in one person’s chart and an anxious careerist in another’s; it all lies hidden in the details.
The same applies to Aries Venus; it is not the same as Aries Mars, as Venus is weak by sign in this case. Additionally, 7th House Sun is weak by House; here, the woman gives away her inner strength to her partner.
Having Sun and Dsc in Taurus, she values stability in her relationships, and despite all this smoldering, sizzling fire burning in her, she aims consciously to build something lasting. She is prone to keeping what she has and working on relationships. Tauruses are very stable partners, quite traditional in their approach to love and femininity. She looks for a partner whom she can trust, be supported by, and rely upon (Taurus), and to be guided and led – a leader (Sun in 7th House + Leo Mars).
Speaking of which, she is often attracted to the charismatic leader type (Leo Mars, Aries Venus, Sun in 7th House). However, it is not only the strength of character, inner shine, and valor that appeal to her, but also the intellectual part that is crucial and sets her heart and imagination ablaze (7th House Mercury, 9th House Mars). She yearns for interesting discussions with a worthy opponent (and it augments the passion in her). Intelligence attracts her in general; even an intellectual job could be a point of fascination. Additionally, intellectual connections make her feel safe and emotionally close with someone (3rd House Moon); her partner should be her friend (7th House Mercury as 11th House Ruler).
Her 7th House ruler is in the 5th House, so there is no marriage (long-term partnership) without love. Interestingly, when we observe the 5th House elements, we see that her crushes are kind of karmic, illusionary traps. She is prone to over-reaction, experiencing intense and whimsical feelings, and often attracting “interesting” people in a negative sense.
She tends to sacrifice herself and become addicted to people she loves (5th House in Pisces, Pisces Lilith, Aries Venus, and plenty of Neptune aspects, giving her imagination and empathy, but also a tendency to drown in delusions). Overall, it is better for her to be married in a stable relationship than to be only in love; it is a healthier version for sure.
As a woman, she is torn apart between her female roles, full of extreme contrasts (and so are her emotions, as the Moon and Venus also represent this part of our lives). Both Venus and Moon are weak, so these are not positive types of inner conflicts. She may be afraid of maturing.
As mentioned above, she is not a resourceful hostess, nor does she have warm connections with her family; she subconsciously tries to detach from them. This may also be caused by negative conditions and lack of warmth in the beginning of her life (IC in Aquarius, 4th House Saturn squared by Pluto, Capricorn Moon; Scorpio Rising also gives difficult beginnings of one’s life).
She may learn something of this kind during her life though, as the Moon has a lot of aspects in her horoscope (Queen of aspects), so it may provide some possibilities for growth.
An interesting fact: she is married, and even though her husband has Sun in an air sign, his Rising is in Taurus sign in conjunction with her Descendant, and his Moon and Mars are in a fire element, so it fits.

Answering today’s question, let it be Paul Atreides from Dune. Not Timothée Chalamet, but the book character from Dune novel series by Frank Herbert, which I read for the first time when I was in my teens.
No doubt, he was utterly compelling to me. I’m easily attracted to charismatic leaders, and he was also very intelligent, decisive, shrouded in mystery, noble, an exceptional warrior and politician, and his spiritual aspect and gifts were really something captivating… And he was a pale brunet, which I find aesthetically pleasing.
Summing up, he was everything I found attractive back in those days.
So, you got it – Paul Atreides was a book character that agitated my romantic imagination when I was a teen (There was also the Phantom of the Opera, but let’s leave that for the next post).
Never cared if he was a positive character or not… You can be deeply moved by a false messiah 🥰
Previously, I’ve written a post about sigil magic with some simple instructions from my notes. If you are interested in the topic, please check it out 🙂 I’ve explained the most crucial points there, though I’ll just repeat that the sigil is a graphic representation of our intent.
The planetary squares are numerological representations of planetary energy, doors, and keys with which we access it.
It is worth emphasizing, though, that this is not just sigil magic; it is planetary (or astrology) magic, combined with ancient (Kabbalistic) numerology. In Higher/Ceremonial Magic (hermetic orders), these squares were also used to summon the spirits, but I personally prefer using sigils as talismans/amulets, or magic that affects events/inner world, and I’ll describe it all from this perspective.
There are seven planetary squares in total, based on the same number of classical planets in Western Astrology. Each of these squares represents a unique numerological combination for the corresponding planetary energy. In other words, these are energy matrices that give us the fuel for our aims (sigils). The outline of each square is based on the planetary number (Kabbalistic numerology: 3=Saturn, 4=Jupiter, 5=Mars, 6=Sun, 7=Venus, 8=Mercury, 9=Moon; it’s all based on Sephiroth) and all their derivatives.
There are many mathematical equations that determine how each square should look (square from planetary numbers, the same sum in all lines, etc). However, we already have them nice and ready, like freshly baked pizzas just delivered to our doors. We can slice them and enjoy their deliciousness without thinking about which type of flour they used to make the dough. The squares are ready for you to work upon.
Though, if you are interested in details and history, take a peek at Three Books of Occult Philosophy by Cornelius Agrippa, The Key of Solomon, or The Magus by Francis Barrett (by the way, heavily influenced by Agrippa).
Each planetary square is used for different purposes, as each planet has its own magical specialization. Once again, each pizza has its own flavor; it’s for you to choose which one you wish to consume right now 😉
Now, after we’ve chosen which energy suits us the most, we create an intention: come up with a word or phrase that reflects your wish precisely. Then, we add some basic Western Numerology to it. Take a look at the table below: each letter of the Latin alphabet (it can be any alphabet, actually; the table is universal, just arrange the letters in their prescribed order between 1-9 numbers) is connected with a certain number from this table.

Write the numbers down, substituting the letters of your phrase with them. For instance, I used the word “inspiration” and now we have the following numbers: 95179912965.
Now, let’s cut our pizzas… meaning that let’s create our sigil by tracing the pattern of these numbers on the Venus square (we usually draw a little circle at the beginning of the sigil, marking the beginning, and a short horizontal line at the end of the pattern to show where the energy finishes its flow).
I tried by best, but I don’t have a steady hand for a perfect lining.
Redraw the ready pattern. You can put the sigil on any material of your choice; it is already charged by planetary energy (!) and you may wear it as a talisman if you like. However, if you want to intensify (additional energy!) the planetary influence and connection to the sigil energy source, you may paint it in green or rose color (still using the example of the Venus square), perform this magic on Friday, during Venus planetary hours (yep, I also promised to do a post on these ones to Laura), or when the Moon is in Taurus or Libra signs. You may choose apple tree wood or a copper base to carve it upon, anoint it with Rose or Jasmine essential oil, or carve it into a rose or green candle.
In other words, you may support this Venus energy source with additional planetary energy correspondences if you wish.

I’m back to blogging after this somewhat lengthy weekend, and I’m ready to share my thoughts, art, and experience with you 🙂
First and foremost, I’d like to answer briefly to this prompt.
My favorite thing about myself is that I always think with my own head and I’m not easily swayed by the opinions of other people. Additionally, I’m curious, inquisitive, experimental, and I’m constantly trying to broaden my horizons, which leads me to the fact that I’m a passionate reader 😉 And I love this about myself very much.
Speaking of which, this weekend I finished reading The Whole Truth about the Planet Ksi, written by Janusz Zajdel, a prominent Polish sci-fi and dystopian writer. Recently, I’ve written about his short story collection The Farewell Letter. For those who may not know, let me briefly remind you, that this author was a important figure among Polish sci-fi writers, helped and cared about younger writers a lot.
Having worked in radiology safety and as a university professor, he tried to combine or even balance the fictional part of science fiction with scientific facts and rational logic. Zajdel‘s dystopian works reflected his criticism of the Polish socialistic reality of his life, and also the way any propaganda fogs people’s minds. He died of lung cancer at the considerably young age of 46.
Speaking of The Whole Truth About the Planet Ksi, it is mostly a dystopian novel with some sci-fi elements (transplanetary travel and colonization of other planets than Earth). It revolves around the ideas of how totalitarian societies are created and why they thrive even if people suffer. Lies are a better basis for creating such societies because lies are flexible, and truths are often stiff and inconvenient. If you provide people with some outside enemy, the people will be connected, trusting, and praising the tyrants as their only protectors.
The story unfolds through two perspectives: one is an expedition head, Sloth, who was sent to check what was going on with the group of colonists sent to planet Ksi, and the second perspective is that of the original colonization group’s captain, whom we know as 11, or great grandfather.
Sloth is neutral, rational, and quite mature. He values the years that are left to him, remembers totalitarian societies on Earth, and does not rush into decisions or quick actions. He prefers the marveled eyes of women to any political power, giving us the impression that we can trust him.
On the contrary, 11 has lots of dishonest desires and unhealthy ambitions, betrayed his friends, enemies, and people of this globe several times, and actually helped terrorists establish this totalitarian, even feudal, society, where your rank is based on the number tattooed on your forehead. This makes readers doubt his perspective on things; still, he was the one who saw everything from the very beginning.
The author of the book does not force an opinion on you; you may choose what to think of the main character and even of the future destiny of the planet Ksi. When the second expedition arrives to spy on the Ksi’s society, they also are not sure of their next course of action regarding this society. They want to help, but they are unsure of how to do it without turning out as alien conquerors who took away the last straw of hope from this planet’s population.
And I really appreciate this approach, this conversational, theorizing way which lets us, readers, decide for ourselves. The language is descriptive, the protagonists are multi-dimensional, and their emotions are genuine. Readers can empathize with their doubts, turmoil, and longings
The society, though a bit caricatured, actually reminds us of the ones we have on Earth, and the author precisely demonstrates how they function. Yes, something like this, theoretically speaking, may have appeared in space at the early stages of colonizing. Well, such states are and were here, near us on Earth.
However, I had uncertainties while reading the book. For instance, how did people age in space in this book? I thought that outside Earth’s gravity we remain unaffected by the flow of time (perhaps someone with a physics background can explain this to me). Another moment: planet Ksi had only a 16-hour-long day, I get it. However, human biological hours should still remain 24… Am I right?
Additionally, the first generation of colonists was deprived of technology, which is understandable, but couldn’t they hunt with some handmade primitive tools? I believe J. Zajdel had explanations for that, but unfortunately, it is unlikely I will ever ask him…
Overall, I took great pleasure in reading this compelling dystopian novel. It broadens your perspective and encourages you to think, speculate, come up with your own choices and solutions. And prompts us to analyze the roots of various social issues and the ways many modern totalitarian societies function and continue to develop.
The Whole Truth about the Planet Ksi reminds me a bit of Eden by S. Lem, so if you are a fan of those authors or you really enjoy reading dystopian prose, it may be a great pick for you😊

There could be some problems not only with upset nerves but also with your stomach, headaches, blood pressure, and inflammations/infections (negatively aspected 6th House progressed Mars) so try to apply lots of care to yourself.
This period of time is favorable for making money (2nd House stellium in Solar return, with Jupiter and Venus, Solar Mercury conjuncts Venus). Furthermore, the 6th House Virgo Moon and 10th House progressed stellium may denote some changes regarding your career life. You may find lots of comfort in your work, which may support you on an emotional and subconscious level. ‘It’s hot as in Rogterr’s fire palace,’ Agenit muttered wearily, lazily untying his scarlet ceremonial robe, embroidered with golden patterns and the speckles of the sun stone, and carelessly throwing it on the floor. Such a simple gesture, but it expressed all that he thought or felt about the priesthood. Dressed in simple pants and a linen shirt now, no one would ever discern him from some potter or carpenter from the town. The man wiped his forehead with a relieved sigh. He was himself at last.
The room’s air was motionless and stuffy, and the heat intensified with each second. Slanting sun rays fell through the narrow window, as if burning through the floor and the opposite wall in brilliant torrents of smoldering light.
Agenit was a gifted and skilled fire priest, so heat was but a temporary nuisance for him, as he knew how to adjust his body to high temperatures. He could absorb the blazing heat and replenish his depleted magical reserves, which he hastened to do.
The priest sat down in a pool of light, with his eyes closed, and took several deep breaths. He could shift his state of consciousness almost instantaneously, and in a few minutes, his mind became entirely entranced.
Agenit’s inner fire was burning strong. What was the outer elemental flame flame, but a reflection of his inner one? What was his inner blaze if not part of the universal one? The scorching heat grew more intense, burning and causing pain, until it ceased to exist. Now, only one fire remained, just oneness, unity, and connection. The birds’ melodic chirping and the relaxing stillness of the room suddenly became shattered, drowned in the sound of a passionate foreign song coming from the town’s central square. She resembled a vivid, colorful tropical bird, strayed away from the forest by some awful mistake and now cornered by a gaping, cheering, dancing crowd, as if caught in a vibrant net…
What wouldn’t he give to stroll among them in broad daylight, to be free, released from the solemn walls of the sacred temple, unrestrained by the dogmas and oaths? To escape the pretenses and make-beliefs of the priesthood, which always lost their power as quickly as no one seemed to be watching. Lies charged with idle glances and contemptuous talks.
At least, why should he pretend? Agenit often ran away disguised at night, when all other priests seemed firmly asleep in their beds. He climbed down the quarters’ wall, then usually jumped over the fence – thin, delicately wrought, interlaced with golden ivy that burned like hell when touched with bare skin…
Come on! Could this southern stinging plant prevent him from escaping? It only scared nine-year-old neophytes just accepted into the temple, still believing, full of shock and wonder.
Later on, the man normally hastened down the crowded streets, drinking the finest wines, savoring delicious food in the company of music and laughter in some shady corner taverns. And he enjoyed life there until soft haziness overcame him.
In addition, he always found reason to fight with a drunken opponent, victoriously showing off his sword skills and magical excellence. The round of applause and shiny female glances were fitting rewards in dangerous endeavors. And then… The pale moons, glistening stars, and whispering sea waves kept their secrets well.
In short, Agenit had blazing, scorching blood in his veins; the flames of passion surged through his soul, making it simply impossible for him to be pacified, restrained, and confined within the paper-rolls of sacred texts and dusty temple walls. He wanted, craved, and was obsessed with freedom. A true child of fire was he…

I decided to share with you my knowledge and methods of creating sigils. I personally haven’t posted anything on this topic for a while, but I use this method a lot, as it is very artistic, intuitive, and powerful.
You can’t really spoil a sigil or do it wrong, because when we perform sigil magic, what matters is establishing a connection and link between three levels:
Personal subconscious and mind
Collective unconscious (also subtle plane, where the lines of possible events form)
Events and possibilities in real life
You create your own unique link, the representation of your own willpower and imagination. So, you set the rules, put lots of creative energy into it, and make this work your way. You trace the pattern of your future events (or something inside your mind, some issues, schemas you want to work upon if you use the Chaos Magic method), breathe energy into it, and create a physical representation of this process—a sigil.
I’ve mentioned chaos magic, but there are plenty of approaches to sigil magic: people summon spirits using sigils, work on their psychological issues, treat them as manifestations of their will, and so on. In this post, I’m talking about treating them as talismans/manifestations of your will, and it will be in the form of an instruction, which I actually copied from my notes. Sorry if some places will repeat.

Ways of creation:
Rose Cross with Hebrew or English letters (write down a word or phrase, cross out vowels, connect the consonants in the order they follow. The pattern you receive is your sigil).
Planet squares (here we reach out for the energy of the planet which can support our sigil. I’ll write a separate post on them because it is complicated).
A phrase containing your intent (we cross out the vowels and repeated consonants, we combine the rest of the letters in a pattern, or we break letters into pieces and combine them in a pattern/drawing).
Intuitive – we draw as our intuition tells us to draw (something like automatic writing. We also can retrace the shape of flowers or symbols this way).
Nature/elements (we look for patterns when meditating on fire/water/earth etc. They can act like sigils, and they are already charged with elemental power).
Bindrunes, glyphs, runes, planet/card pictograms, nodes (they are a variant of sigils in a way, but we also can combine them into patterns).
Verbal sigils (instead of a pattern, we make activation words, mantras, poems, stories from letters).
Hyper sigils (we make an image from the pattern – draw it or paint. This also works as a way of their activation).

Where do we write the sigils?
We can use paper, wood, water/coffee/tea, cake in the oven or any other food, canvas, stone, candle, wear them as a pendant, draw on the earth, sand, grain, leaves and petals, glass, skin (including your own), nails, set as a wallpaper on your phone, or draw in the air in front of you – there are no restrictions.

Methods of activation:
We can draw in a circle to have control over them – optional.
We draw in the symbols of the planets or the elements – at the appropriate hours, days, transits, with mudras if you wish.
We activate them with elements, sun or moonlight, by burning down candles, with salt, light, essential oils, colors, breath, body heat, carrying with us, herbal juices, or tinctures.
By saying a verbal formula (verbal sigil or spell), with music, singing, dancing, drawing, painting, giving energy, or Reiki.
By destruction, burning, drying up, sinking in the river, melting the wax, tearing paper, pinching yourself (then we usually destroy and forget, it is not about self-harm, it’s about creating an emotional link through the shock – you may press ice to your skin, or watch something funny or shocking instead, it’s up to you).
