⏰Reading, Meditating, Thinking… And The Collection Of Memes💻

Daily writing prompt
What are your daily habits?

Hi Everyone! 🙂

Let’s see what today’s prompt brought us… Thankfully, these are just habits, not duties 🙂

So… I read daily in three languages, about 30-50 pages per book, depending on the day. As you can guess, I usually read three books at the same time. I typically do this in the garden, but I can enjoy the process anywhere. I easily detach from whatever is happening around me and plunge into the narrative.

Earlier, I also read in German, but I kind of relinquished learning this language, as I have no spoken practice with real people. Thus, I couldn’t develop my skill above the upper-intermediate level. And I normally can’t stand talking with AIs, as they are boring and morbid. So, only three languages are left for me at the moment. I’m thinking about returning to extensive language learning though 🙂

I try to meditate daily, though I’ve been persuading myself to do this for almost a week already with no result. I normally do Yoga, Reiki, and other spiritual practices, which usually mean a lot to me and support me psychologically.

I play video games, mostly different parts of The Sims (except for 4th, which I can’t stand), Skyrim, and for nostalgia’s sake, The Heroes Of Might and Magic III. I also have ESO, Mount and Blade, Minecraft, and other games installed on my computer, but those are left for rarer occasions.

Additionally, I ruminate a lot, worry, and daydream – I love imagining different things and stories. Sometimes I’m so captivated, I forget where I am!
I over-interpret people’s behavior and enjoy pondering upon philosophical questions, analyzing everything over and over again 😀

Finally, I adore listening to music and walking in nature, taking occasional photos: I mention it a lot here on my blog, so you know it 😉

I was caught by the rain on my way and got drenched completely 😀 As if after an intensive shower 😀

PS: After reading the last chapter of my recently posted short story, my husband asked me directly if the sorceress was, in fact, me, as she gave off a lot of my personal vibe. Of course, she wasn’t my twin or the personal projection of myself, but I must admit that the most female characters I write about have a lot of my energy and character features. It is easier for me to write this way, and it is difficult to create someone very different from what I am.

So, I thought carefully and set myself a challenge: my next story, I will write about a strong, independent, feminist woman. I don’t know what will come out of it, but if I managed to make male protagonist quite tolerable (?), why shouldn’t I succeed with a stronger female character? 🙂

After all, a good writer should be like a good actor, able to describe and impersonate everything. So wish me luck!

Thank you so much for reading this post! 🙂

🕯️Call of Destiny: Omens And Dreams (Part Three) 〰  Fantasy Story by MarvellousNightmare 〰 Aridia Cycle📜

Part One
Part Two

DISCLAIMER: the events and the characters mentioned in this story are the product of the author’s imagination.

The heavy, inky storm clouds sprawled across the sky swiftly. There was no glimpse of rain, though the thunder rumbled on and on, promising, menacing… The stuffy air was electrified with foreboding suspense; the stillness was dense and unbearable… Until a sudden cluster of lightning shattered the sky to pieces and set the sparse rock woods ablaze. The mountains trembled in an instant, swaying, bursting, and crying in stonefalls. Their gray shapes surrounded Agenit, threatening to crumble, fall, and bury him alive.

The valleys below were damp and crimson with blood; heaps of corpses could be spotted everywhere. The moans and prayers of the dying people filled the air, imploring, cursing – nonetheless, their pleas hung unanswered.

It reminded the priest so vividly of what he had read about The World’s End Prophecy, it was uncanny. Now the Moons should fall on the earth and burst into pieces, ruining the cities, seaports, temples—all they built in their blind pride. And the Deities would step down to earth, walking among mortals, cleansing the planet of sinners and rewarding the worthy ones… Did he even believe in this nonsense from the sacred scrolls? There was no time for rumination, though.

Agenit looked everywhere, desperately searching, calling for someone, yet never finding even the slightest resemblance… His head was swirling from tension, his fists clenched, until finally he gasped in recognition. She is alive! Alive!

In this crazy, terrifying madness, when death seemed to rule the world, dead, blank eyes staring at him from every point and angle, and devastation absorbing everything around, he cared for no one but her. It was her he could never lose.

Half-blood she was, or some other kind of elven descendant. Anyone could instantly guess this just by looking at the woman’s luminous, deep, almost transparent eyes, with an electric quality in them. So humane, affectionate, and at the same time so bizarrely inhuman, they were almost the exact reflection of the sky’s insanity above them.

The sorceress stood upright, raising her hands to the sky. Her inner palms, covered with intricate tattoo patterns, shimmered mysteriously with tiny blue and silver sparks; she was evidently weaving a spell.

The woman remained on the cliff’s edge, shaking, almost embraced and destroyed by the imminent danger. She was just one tiny step away from it. Agenit’s heart scorched with pain at this sight. He knew that the impact of the spell could kill her at that moment; the air was electrified, overcharged with the storm and the energy left from the battle magic that filled the space not so long ago. The sorceress knew it too. Why did she wish to sacrifice herself like this? For what?

The man wanted to catch her in an instant, to press her tightly to his chest and never let go. He had never been the romantic type, really. He would laugh at the mere suggestion. Though, right now… He couldn’t help it.

Agenit ran to her, calling, cursing, stumbling, trying to reach his beloved so desperately… Embers from the forest fire were falling on his head, and stones almost hit him several times – just a few scratches. Still, he’d give his life to save her, to stop her from enchanting this murderous spell… The signs on her palms lit up brightly. Feeling his presence, the woman turned, looking him straight in the eye, as Agenit squeezed her at last…

The unfinished spell burst, creating multiple energy currents, igniting the air around them. The power wave threw their bodies away, smashing them against the rocks, and stones fell like rain, covering them and saving them partly from the destructive, poisonous impact. In other circumstances, it would have killed and buried their bodies, but the priest created an energy shield the moment he caught the woman.

It was almost quiet now. His beloved lay in his arms, so delicate, unmoving, so cold to the touch… Was the blow too powerful for her anyway? Or was she doomed the moment she started weaving her enchantment? He pulled her even closer in dismay, unwilling, refusing to let her die…

The man continued embracing his beloved in silence, shocked and confused, until he discerned a slight movement of her head. Agenit lit up in an instant, full of hope, however it was only a silent whisper, ‘It’s the end…’ Her voice was like the rustle of tree leaves gently touched by the wind, like the soothing song of the sea tide… Or was it all an illusion, these words? Her eyes were shut tightly, no breath was heard or felt, even though he tried desperately to catch it, and only tiny currents of blood from her temple were leaving wet stains on his hands and clothes…

‘You overslept,’ Torret reproached him dryly, shaking him energetically by the shoulder. ‘Wake up, you were chosen to be part of the embassy to Delvii during the sacred gathering an hour ago. In the name of Rogterr, I’d never give you such a responsibility! I wouldn’t trust you even with washing dishes after supper. They are crazy! Crazy! And they rely too much on astrology!’

Agenit cursed silently and opened his eyes. His dreams, foreboding and disquieting, still had a grip on him. The mesmerizing eyes of that unknown sorceress, the coldness of her skin… The man shook his head, trying to get rid of these confusing feelings while his neighbor continued his unending, maddening preaching.

Torret gestured dramatically, carried by irritation, then looked back and stopped abruptly. ‘A bad sign,’ he nodded towards the sacred lamp. ‘For fire’s sake, you can’t take care of one simple thing! Every neophyte can do it! And they chose you as the embassy member! Idiots!’

Agenit silently agreed with his friend. Maybe this is a sign that the time has come? His sacred fire went out, anyway. He’d go to the mages’ guild this evening; they must accept him. There was no time to wait. The man caught a tiny movement from the corner of his eye and turned swiftly to look at the window.

A black, four-winged bird sat on the windowsill, observing him triumphantly, with uncovered malice. As soon as it noticed the man’s attention, the creature shrieked sharply, eerily, declaring the disaster.

Agenit shuddered with unease.

🥣My Husband’s Cooking, Pasta and… I’m Officially A Vampire!🧛

Daily writing prompt
What’s the most delicious thing you’ve ever eaten?

Hi Everyone!

It is a difficult prompt, in my honest opinion. There are so many delicious dishes in the world, so many tasty experiences and vivid memories they bring! Should I really sacrifice them all for one? Hmmm.

No, I shouldn’t. My blog – my rules. And I refuse to narrow it down, though I did a bit anyway, otherwise, it would never end!

So enjoy this list of dishes, full of sentimental, wonderful, delicious memories and choices!

👩🏻‍🍳 My husband’s cooking, an example of which you can see in the photo, is always delicious and exceptional. He is endowed with true talent. I’m a picky eater, but when he makes something I generally don’t like – I eat it with pleasure. I’ve already shared some pizza photos with you, trust me, there is so much more to explore and enjoy!🥣

🥟My grandmother’s dumplings. I don’t know if it is me being sentimental or the unique herbal mix she always added to the boiling water, but she made the best dumplings ever. And these are nice, treasured memories because my grandmother, grandfather, and I made them together. I always added one with the surprise inside: I enclosed some salt, pepper, or raw dough instead of stuffing. The one who got this special treat on their plate was lucky… Or rather it was a demonstration of my vindictive character and vicious sense of humor! 😈

🍲Duck blood soup (Czarnina) 🩸 – yeah, I’m officially a vampire, give me some badge or sign of honor. I know that at first you’ll probably be disgusted. However, just trust me for a moment, close your eyes, cast off all your expectations and try this dish. I promise you it tastes like heaven. It is some kind of fairytale dish, with a multitude of shades mixed in one flavor. It is rich in plum juice as well, which balances its taste just perfectly. Worth trying 😉

🏺Yogurt + Honey and Greek Dolmades – we tried this during our vacation in Greece. It was a really wonderful experience to which I often return in my memories. If you are ever in Greece, try this, you won’t regret it 🙂

🥪Panini in British Costa Coffee – also an exceptional memory. They made it taste so stunningly there, so crunchy and nourishing. This melted mozzarella on crispy bread smeared generously with pesto – mmm. Worth every bite of it.

🍝Last, however insanely loved! Pasta – in each shape, with each sauce… If I were forced into eating one dish only for my entire life, I’d definitely pick pasta – it is my eternal love! I even had a period in my life when I ate pasta and fruits only and was very happy (my organism probably wasn’t as much but still…)

What about you and your list of the most delicious things? Let’s share 🙂

And thank you so much for reading my posts! 🙂

Ancient Helmet And My New Drawing🎨

Daily writing prompt
If you were forced to wear one outfit over and over again, what would it be?

Hi Everyone,

I don’t know what kind of intelligent answer I could possibly produce for this prompt. And I marvel at the sight of people who managed to do so. Round of applause

So I asked this question to my husband, and he chose the Roman or any ancient helmet as his eternal outfit. Please count it as my reply 🙂

As for me, I’d better boast about my latest drawing. I’m an amateur artist, as you possibly know, and I draw mostly for fun. The shadow play and lights are my biggest weakness, but I tried really hard, using almost exclusively my imagination:

drawing by MarvellousNightmare

I hope you’ll enjoy it. This is also an illustration for the final chapter of my short story False Memories.

I should definitely exercise drawing more regularly; however, I have been rather preoccupied with some other aims and passions lately. Nonetheless, I went through a tiny crisis this Full Moon, and I guess I have my priorities slightly readjusted… which means you’ll see more of my creative attempts 😅

Thank you for checking out this post 🙂

Horus Rising: The Seeds of Heresy Are Sown by Dan Abnett – My Review

Hi everyone!

This weekend, I finished reading Horus Rising: The Seeds of Heresy Are Sown by Dan Abnett. It is the first book of the Horus Heresy novel series, which can be described as techno-fantasy or fantasy action genre. All these books belong to the Warhammer Universe, and they are fanfiction based on this game.

Dan Abnett is a British novel writer and comic creator. He currently works as a scenarist for Marvel and is known for Sinister Dexter, Black Light, Badlands, Atavar, Downlode Tales, Sancho Panzer, Roadkill, Death’s Head, and Wardog comics. He has published numerous novels dedicated to the Warhammer Universe, and some of which have found wide recognition among the reading audience.

Horus Rising: The Seeds of Heresy Are Sown presents the chain of events for the next parts and explains the main points of how the Imperium of Man looks, making us acquainted with the main ideology of it, its morals and belief systems, aims, and “mission” – all of these through the eyes of Captain Loken. We also get to know about the society structure, iterators (ideologist-philosophers), remembrancers (artists), and Astartes (genetically bred warrior-race) – which confirms the idea that poetry and love bloom the most where the fiercest wars take place.

We learn about materialism (on the surface) and the militarism as the main underlying currents of the Imperium. We take a look at the other species and civilizations, often presented by scenes in which Loken shares his memories about certain wars with Mersadie Oliton, a remembrancer who preserves his stories. We understand why Warmaster Horus is often referred to as a great leader, and that materialism, declared as the right path for humanity, may not really turn out all that perfect (cult, warp, chaos), and the rejection of warp power may cause bigger problems.

Captain Loken is portrayed as an honest, reliable, moral, and kind type, giving us a perspective we can trust. He is stoic and stubborn, but even he finally accepts certain views and facts. He is shown as a stereotypically “good guy,” and that creates an interesting effect: when he steps off the straight, appropriate path, we tend to accept and understand it. All his memories seem true, all his sympathies are justified in a way… But he is so annoying at the same time, exactly the way a stereotypically “good guy” may be maddening. If he would only show a glimpse of vice or weakness and be more human just for once!

However… It’s probably another irritating feature of this novel: the characters are schematic and not really deep. It all stays on the surface… Or should military men (well, Astartes) be like that? Nah, I doubt it.

Still, the book sets things in motion, it intrigues, and makes the narrative compelling – we wonder about the power of the warp, we are caught by the portrayal of the “Emperor, beloved by all” as perfect and distant, really reminding some kind of deity. It’s only natural that cults are appearing.

Despite somewhat shallow descriptions, we still are presented with inner conflict in Euphrati Keeler after encountering the warp, or in Warmaster Horus when he encounters another human civilization, “Interex,” which could potentially be equals to the Imperium. These moments truly capture our attention, and I’m grateful for them!

Yet, other cultures, civilizations, planets, and species so overly attractive and captivating, however we have just a brief overview of them. Sadly, we aren’t allowed to dive deeper into details; their descriptions only touch the surface.

On the other hand, the author managed to pack an impressive multitude of events and details into this medium-sized novel, so he clearly had no other choice but to sacrifice the depth. The language is also quite simple and dry for my taste, but I guess if you are not into immersive, intricate descriptions in general and want to read about your favorite Universe, this novel would be perfect for you.

Finally, I’ve never played the game itself. I started reading the Warhammer series on a bet with my husband, and the only thing I knew was that Warhammer encompasses most of the popular fantasy themes. I also had a friend long ago who wrote fan fiction short stories based on that Universe.

Nonetheless, after reading Horus Rising: The Seeds of Heresy Are Sown by Dan Abnett, I feel pretty much acquainted with this world and its intricacies, intrigued enough to continue reading the books of this series, and even curious enough to play Warhammer myself.

To sum up, an interesting read, especially if you are into the game or sci-fi/fantastic action genre in general. It is very structured and dense with events, though a bit shallow when it comes to descriptions.

Thank you so much for reading this post 🙂

💆🏻‍♀️My Self-Care Activities: I’m Aiming To Harmony And Relaxation!🧘🏻‍♀️

Daily writing prompt
How do you practice self-care?

Hi everyone,

It is a bit difficult question in my case because I have problems with relaxing myself, and I feel it especially acutely now, with the Full Moon in Capricorn. I have a natal Moon in this sign, so I’m overly sensitive at the moment.

There are some things and activities that help me to relax for a very brief period, but then it comes back to normal, and my back and neck hurt like hell because I accumulate all this pressure and emotions there, in my bones.

I also had problems treating myself; I had a tendency to reject some simple pleasures completely in the past, and I was really ascetic, which is not always good for my psyche. But I’m working on that and learning to find pleasure in practical things as well, and it’s going quite good!

So how do I practice self-care?

📖Reading, self-learning, and other intellectual tasks – when I’m absorbed by intensive thinking, I don’t concentrate much on negative emotions, worries, or self-criticism. I can even calm myself down this way quickly – I just recently discovered that, but it is helpful.

🚶‍♀️🎵Long walks with music: it reduces my levels of stress and releases negative emotions, especially when I move quickly and intensely – it is kind of a physical exercise too!
I mostly listen to heavy music like metal & hard rock & rock (you’d never think it if you saw me in real life), though I’m also open to darkwave, folk, ethereal, renaissance songs, some dramatic and intense classical tunes, and even some melodic rap (I mean, I’ve stolen something from my husband’s car).
I guess you really stop caring about staying true to one genre after 30. The most crucial thing is the dramatic, expressive, electrifying quality of these musical pieces, because my emotions have the same level of intensity, so when I listen to it, I feel… on my own waves and calmer.

💆🏻‍♀️Hugging my husband, good food, massage, spa (facial treatments, etc.), connecting to nature – it also helps me feel better and release my inner tension for a moment 🙂

🎨Creative activities like writing and drawing also help me to unload from my chest whatever torments me at the moment or any way-too-high level of unease. I kind of embody or pour it all out into my artistic pieces, and then I’m at ease for a moment, all anxiety and tension released.
That is why I enjoy writing horrors so much, btw 😀 Also because my inner child is frightened and gothic, but you get the point.

🧘Meditation, yoga, Reiki self-healing, and other forms of spirituality – this helps me to relax, reach inner harmony, get rid of tension, “touch the sky,” and talk with the Absolute. I feel like I’m in touch with the sense of my life then.

And that is it 🙂 Thank you for reading this humble list of self-caring activities 🙂

⌛So Where Does The Time Go? Poem By MarvellousNightmare✍🏻

    Daily writing prompt
How do you waste the most time every day?
So where does the time go?
    I humbly ask the Universe
    With a slightly trembling voice.
I wonder patiently - is there a choice?
No doubt, our memories are lies
    Designed by our cunning minds.
Whatever happened once in the past
Lies crumbled, buried in the dust.
    Illusions: future dreams and plans,
They won't exist, they'll turn into a haze,
Like clouds they will merge and phase,
Unstable to their core, fuzzed and erased.
What are they but the road signs?
The history is also a surmise
Composed by those who won and thrived.
Each second, every day we die only to rise
    Again.
And our paths are densely paved
With memories of what's long dead.
We change with every move or breath
Thus shedding our skins, we burn to ashes
Step closer to the truth or passing flashes
    Of our hopes.
    Whereas the time… Time flows!
Time passes like a river shaping stones.
Its very pace chips off and hones
    Illusionary sand from our hearts.
Each change is a Universal form of art.

🧿Spirituality + Free Full Moon Reiki Sessions and Tarot/Astrology Readings 🌕

    Daily writing prompt
How important is spirituality in your life?

As far as I know, the word “spirituality” has a very wide meaning in the English language and describes everything from belief systems to the typically esoteric-occult field.

Let’s check a definition in the Cambridge Dictionary, so that we’ll be on the same page:

If we approach it from this angle, I assure you, spirituality is a kind of natural, innate, inseparable part of my life. If not for my incessant, firm connection with the world that transcends the physical plane, I’d probably fall into a deep depression, stripped of any will to live. The dense, material reality is so dry and barren without spirit, like the desert under the fierce, searing rays of the vehement sun.

Not every person requires it, but I do. I need a glimpse of wonder to exist, I need a touch of the Absolute, a presence of magic in my life. Moreover, I feel it, I see it, I experience it with every particle of my being, so there is not even a question for me, not a tiny pin of doubt if something beyond the material and palpable exists. I see the representation of the divine or divinities in everything, even in the small things. I’m a whole-hearted believer, and I’m happy I have this gift.

Additionally, it’s not only about believing for me. I’m into the more practical side of spirituality as well. Call it psychic, magic, esoteric… I write a lot about this on the pages of my blog, so feel free to check it out.
I’m a Reiki Level II practitioner, I’m an astrologer and experienced Tarot reader. I’m into Sigil, Planetary, Norse/Runic and Fire magic, in every kind of magic actually. I meditate a lot and I’m fond of yoga 🙂

So, now that you know it, I also invite you to take part in my free-of-charge Full Moon Reiki group sessions and readings of your choice. I do something like this every month for free, and it will last 3 days: today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow. You don’t have to pay anything, but if you want to express your gratitude to me, you can repost me or share your impressions/feedback under this link.

I don’t need any personal data from you. For either Reiki sessions or Tarot readings, the name of your blog and your current location (country) are completely enough 🙂 If you want me to perform a natal chart or any astrology reading for you, just generate the chart on astro.com, paint over your birth data, and send the result to me via leomoria93@outlook.com 🙂

Here you can see and check my previous Readings and Sessions to make up your mind. If you want to take part, just leave a comment under this post and describe which kind of reading or session you would prefer 🙂 In the case of Reiki, I’ll answer you in the comments with instructions on what to do and expect, and I’ll perform readings in separate posts on my blog.

By the way, Laura and I are planning to start our podcast dedicated to spirituality! We already have zero episode recorded, it just needs some editing 🙂

That is it! Thanks for reading and feel free to join my sessions 😉

🕯️Call of Destiny: Omens And Dreams (Part Two) 〰 Fantasy Story by MarvellousNightmare 〰 Aridia Cycle📜

    Part One
    Part Three

DISCLAIMER: the events and the characters mentioned in this story are the product of the author’s imagination.

He observed the room again. So silent it was. His neighbor Torret, pious, honest, and well-versed man, was still absent. He would make a great high priest one day, at least Agenit would vote for him. No one can be more genuine, knowledgeable, or honorable than Torret. Definitely not him—man chuckled silently.

He took the last peek through the window, observing the chanting, swaying crowd, running kids, stumbling, laughing, crying, a somber procession moving towards the earth temple—someone’s funeral, no doubt… The distant sea waters were shimmering cold and bright, resembling a wide silver bracelet, thrown loosely at the place where the sands meet the horizon, reflecting the blinding sunrays…

A black feather slowly swirled down, as if falling from the clear, sizzling skies—straight from nowhere. Agenit blinked and headed towards his bed, falling down on the cool sheets.

His sacred lamp, composed of three divine metals, was burning steadily, placed on the bedside table among the paper rolls. They were taught that these metals represented the three kinds of fire: iron was an earthy fire, gold—a festive flame or sunray, and tin stood for a spiritual blaze. He should have cleared some space for his lamp, sure, put rolls in order, but a heavy laziness started to overcome him.

The lamp’s fire should never be put away. It was a representation of his vocation as a priest; it was a living, acting, undisturbed prayer to the Rogterr, which secured his guidance and protection. It would be extinguished only at the moment of his death… Or if he left the temple, which meant the same. The fire suddenly rose and jumped upwards.

The man laughed shortly to himself. You see? He is not made for being a priest, the divine Father knows it perfectly, sees him through in his highest wisdom.

Sure, Agenit was born under the sign of a warrior, in the month of high fires, conceived in chaos. On the day of his birth, all three Moons were aligned, forming the resemblance of a crown. Which happened quite rarely, actually. Because of this, the members of the fire order believed him to become their leader, a High Priest, and with time rule over Aridia, as part of a sacred council represented by high priests of all four elemental deities.

In truth, he was quite gifted, but had a completely wrong personality for becoming a priest—too exuberant, too brave, too independent. He wanted to fight in battles, build his own home, probably have a wife one day, if she won’t interfere much. Adventures! This word made his heart beat faster.

He’d travel this world all over. He would see all lands and their curiosities. He would never rest until his inner fire would be extinguished and his body would be but an empty cocoon, incinerated to ashes.

The fragrance of flowers in bloom, heavy and oppressing in such weather, made his head go round. Agenit loved the heat but was too dizzy already to adjust his body to it, so it started to overwhelm him. He’d go to the seashore and swim as far as he could see in the warm, clear waters. Later, he would dive deep and lie still in the depths, watching the sun mysteriously glow through the water layers, its light interrupted only by the motley schools of small fish. Ah, the refreshing coolness of sea waves. The man stretched out in his bed, dreaming.

There was another issue with this hypothetical “crown and might” notion—he was lowborn. No, his mother was a revered wise woman, and in normal circumstances, he would be respected as well, as her child, even though never taught or admitted to magic. But Agenit was a child of the war, a bastard, knowing nothing of his father, except that he was a Delvian soldier, who raped his mother. Delvian…

They called him that all his life. His very reflection told him so every morning. He inherited these sharp face features and black hair from his father, and wore it as a branded sign of shame. Not once did he wish that someone would break his nose in a fight. Shaving his head bald was another option. As a child, he often imagined dyeing his hair in the sun rays, so they lost their color; some women did that. But with time, Agenit learned to accept what he was.

Nonetheless, can you imagine a person looking like him entering the council? Walking apparition of their worst overseas enemy?

He bit his lip, still watching the dancing, restless movement of the flame. The music fell silent. Now he heard only the occasional bursts of laughter from the street, just under his window. “Neophytes having a break,” crossed his mind.

He often thought of joining the mages guild. They’ll accept him for sure with his talent and expertise. Then he’ll be under their protection and can quit the priesthood without the risk of being killed. They also had fewer oaths and rules, except for sticking for each other and taking part in increasing the overall magical knowledge. Moreover, the mages… They are way freer in their ways. He planned to join them for a long time already, he just waited for the right moment to do that… But this moment never actually came… Even now, he is putting off the final decision.

The movements of fire entranced him, lulling his mind, together with the insistent chirping and young voices coming out from the quarter’s garden. He closed his eyes, just for a moment, for a couple of minutes; he had some time before the next ceremony… Just for a minute, so that he could consider this change with a fresher mind. Maybe it’s time…

❤️Love and Crushes in Astrology: Inspired By Daily Prompt🌌

    Hi again 🙂

I was somewhat inspired by today’s daily prompt – yep, it happens sometimes. So, I decided to write a post regarding love and attraction through the lens of Western Astrology theoretically and using the natal chart attached below as an example. Which elements in our charts are responsible for that?

We typically look at these points:

    Planets: Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars:
☀️The Sun represents either the husband (long-term male partner) or our lifestyle/character, which is crucial for compatibility.
🌙The Moon indicates the wife (long-term female partner), emotional connections, and what we need for comfort and security (family and home life in general).
♀️ Venus signifies the ideal female lover or how we experience and express our love.
♂️ Mars represents the ideal male lover or sexual attraction in general.

Some astrologers also suggest that the planet indicating husband/wife depends on the time of birth (Sun/Moon for daytime, Mars/Venus for nighttime), but it’s a matter of interpretation. For me, Sun/Moon suffice for marriage/long-term partner analysis. Nonetheless, we should analyze all four planets in this context.

Houses and their components (planets inside the House and House Ruler):
The 5th House and its components show us general attraction, being in love, sex, and even children.
The 7th House signifies partnership/marriage, serious bonds.
The 4th House represents our home (which we share with our partners) and everything connected to family and roots (including traumas from our parental home carried into adult life).

Aspects are also crucial in determining our love life. For instance, we look for conjunctions, trines and sextiles between the mentioned planets to confirm that the person has no issues entering and sustaining love relationships, and accepting their roles, desires, urges, femininity/masculinity, while squares and oppositions could negatively influence these dynamics.

Let’s look at the example (with the full consent of the chart’s owner):

At first glance, we see that this person is very passionate, falls in love quickly and ardently (5th House Aries Venus + Leo Mars). There are no problems with entering relationships, as she has a perfect balance of feminine and masculine energy (Sun trines Moon, Venus trines Mars) and a good understanding of the opposite sex’s needs and ways of behaving.

She can’t really live without a relationship; love and being with somebody are crucial for her (7th House Sun, 5th House Venus). Even though you may think that she has numerous “strong signs” placements, she is a very dependable person in the relationship. The Moon in Capricorn is not the same as the Sun in Capricorn; it is a weak placement for a woman – restrictive, “in chains”. You may compare that with her Pisces Lilith if you know some astrology basics.

In the past, people chose the marriage date specifically so that the Moon was in Capricorn, meaning that the woman would be controlled and have no power or decisive presence in her new home, whereas a Cancer or Taurus Moon often shows a strong, resourceful hostess type of woman. But keep in mind there are always several variants in which the planetary archetype may express itself. For example, a Capricorn Moon may represent a dependable woman in one person’s chart and an anxious careerist in another’s; it all lies hidden in the details.

The same applies to Aries Venus; it is not the same as Aries Mars, as Venus is weak by sign in this case. Additionally, 7th House Sun is weak by House; here, the woman gives away her inner strength to her partner.

Having Sun and Dsc in Taurus, she values stability in her relationships, and despite all this smoldering, sizzling fire burning in her, she aims consciously to build something lasting. She is prone to keeping what she has and working on relationships. Tauruses are very stable partners, quite traditional in their approach to love and femininity. She looks for a partner whom she can trust, be supported by, and rely upon (Taurus), and to be guided and led – a leader (Sun in 7th House + Leo Mars).

Speaking of which, she is often attracted to the charismatic leader type (Leo Mars, Aries Venus, Sun in 7th House). However, it is not only the strength of character, inner shine, and valor that appeal to her, but also the intellectual part that is crucial and sets her heart and imagination ablaze (7th House Mercury, 9th House Mars). She yearns for interesting discussions with a worthy opponent (and it augments the passion in her). Intelligence attracts her in general; even an intellectual job could be a point of fascination. Additionally, intellectual connections make her feel safe and emotionally close with someone (3rd House Moon); her partner should be her friend (7th House Mercury as 11th House Ruler).

Her 7th House ruler is in the 5th House, so there is no marriage (long-term partnership) without love. Interestingly, when we observe the 5th House elements, we see that her crushes are kind of karmic, illusionary traps. She is prone to over-reaction, experiencing intense and whimsical feelings, and often attracting “interesting” people in a negative sense.

She tends to sacrifice herself and become addicted to people she loves (5th House in Pisces, Pisces Lilith, Aries Venus, and plenty of Neptune aspects, giving her imagination and empathy, but also a tendency to drown in delusions). Overall, it is better for her to be married in a stable relationship than to be only in love; it is a healthier version for sure.

As a woman, she is torn apart between her female roles, full of extreme contrasts (and so are her emotions, as the Moon and Venus also represent this part of our lives). Both Venus and Moon are weak, so these are not positive types of inner conflicts. She may be afraid of maturing.

As mentioned above, she is not a resourceful hostess, nor does she have warm connections with her family; she subconsciously tries to detach from them. This may also be caused by negative conditions and lack of warmth in the beginning of her life (IC in Aquarius, 4th House Saturn squared by Pluto, Capricorn Moon; Scorpio Rising also gives difficult beginnings of one’s life).

She may learn something of this kind during her life though, as the Moon has a lot of aspects in her horoscope (Queen of aspects), so it may provide some possibilities for growth.

An interesting fact: she is married, and even though her husband has Sun in an air sign, his Rising is in Taurus sign in conjunction with her Descendant, and his Moon and Mars are in a fire element, so it fits.
